Bennies

From Tour of Darkness Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Bennies will function the same in this campaign as they do in any other Savage Worlds campaign, but how they are distributed will be slightly changed, as described below.

All players start the game with a number of bennies depending on the difficulty of the mission:

  • Easy - No Bennies
  • Moderate - 1 Benny
  • Hard - 2 Bennies

The difficulty of a mission is listed in the mission brief.

  • Before the game starts, if you did a journal entry for your character, you get +1 benny.
  • During the game, if you bring a dark mood upon the game, you get +1 benny.
  • Benny adjusting Edges and Hindrances will function the same.

"Bring a dark mood upon the game" can mean different things, but basically the idea is that you will be awarded a benny if you can get everyone into a darker mindset. For instance, if a character or NPC dies in the field, and you say a dark and sobering prayer over the body, that might get you a benny. If a character or NPC dies in the field, and your character has a breakdown and just cries for the next hour, that might get you a benny. If a character is crying like this, and you give him a serious speech about how he needs to pull his self together and there are darker things out here to worry about than dead friends, that might get you a benny. If your character freaks out at night and just starts firing into the darkness as I describe that he hears some movement in the trees, that might get you a benny. Anything that makes things darker, scarier, eviler... that is what will get you a benny.
